Independent journalist Jordan Miller has officially launched the JMN App, a mobile platform designed to deliver real-time news updates directly to users’ smartphones.
The free app, now available on both iOS and Android devices, offers breaking news alerts, community stories, and in-depth coverage focused on Stark, Carroll, and Tuscarawas counties. Miller, founder of Jordan Miller News (JMN), said the app furthers his mission to keep local communities informed and connected.
“This is a major step forward for how I connect with the people who rely on me,” Miller said. “Whether it’s breaking news or a feel-good story from a small town, I want people to have immediate access.”
A 2014 graduate of United Local High School, Miller began his journalism career at The Free Press Standard and later worked as a journalist for NBC affiliate stations WTOV in Steubenville and WKYC in Cleveland. He also served as a radio talk show host on WHBC. Returning to his roots in local reporting, Miller became a newspaper editor who brought new life to three publications in eastern Ohio.
In 2020, he launched Jordan Miller News, an independent news platform aimed at covering small towns and rural communities that are often overlooked by mainstream media. Since its creation, JMN has grown into a trusted source of timely, accurate news — with a strong presence on social media, a dedicated website, and daily reports aired on Q92 radio.
While Miller’s current coverage is centered on Stark, Carroll, and Tuscarawas counties, he said expansion is always on his radar.
“I want JMN to be the go-to source for local news — not just in the three counties I focus on now, but across Northeast Ohio and beyond,” he said. “There’s no reason people in small towns should be left in the dark. Their stories matter just as much.”
Miller added that staying ahead means constant innovation and responsiveness.
“Launching this app is part of my commitment to being the leading media outlet in the region,” he said. “I want to set the standard for what local news can be — fast, accurate, and accessible from wherever you are.”
The JMN App represents the next evolution of the brand. While readers can still access stories through jordanmiller.news and social platforms, the app provides a streamlined experience with push notifications, mobile-friendly layouts, and real-time updates.
“I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without the people who continue to support my work,” Miller said. “The JMN App is for them — and because of them. I’m just getting started.”
The JMN App is available now on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
