Investigation underway after two women die in Tuscarawas County

Two women died after they were found unresponsive between two vehicles Saturday night in Tuscarawas County, authorities said.

Deputies with the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 4000 block of state Route 212 NE near Mineral City around 9:35 p.m. for a report of two unresponsive people.

When deputies arrived, they found both women unresponsive between the vehicles. Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures until medical personnel arrived and took over treatment.

The women were transported to an area hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Authorities said there were no obvious signs of foul play. The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death.

The sheriff’s office said there is no public safety concern related to the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain under investigation.
