Canton Police are investigating a homicide after a 41-year-old man was found dead inside a home on the city’s northeast side Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of St. Elmo Avenue NE on Sept. 2 after someone reported seeing a man lying on the floor inside the residence. When officers arrived, they confirmed the man was deceased.
The victim has been identified as Jake M. Young. Police say he died from a gunshot.
Police said the Young suffered “serious physical harm,” but the exact manner of death has not been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigations Division are handling the case.
No arrests or suspect information have been released.
