Fireworks light up the night sky during an Independence Day celebration. Communities across Stark, Tuscarawas and Carroll counties are hosting fireworks displays throughout the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Communities across Stark, Tuscarawas and Carroll counties are preparing to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, festivals and family-friendly activities over the next several days as the nation marks America’s 250th birthday.

Residents will have multiple opportunities to watch fireworks beginning Thursday, July 2, with displays continuing through Sunday, July 5, and into the following weekend.

Stark County

Thursday, July 2

  • Canton: Monumental Fireworks at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum. Grounds open at 4 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for approximately 9:40 p.m.

Friday, July 3

  • Massillon: Independence Day Celebration at Duncan Plaza. Fireworks are scheduled for dusk.

Saturday, July 4

  • Alliance: Community fireworks at Silver Park. Festivities begin at 4 p.m., with fireworks at dusk.
  • North Canton: The city will host its America 250 celebration downtown featuring a drone light show after dark. No fireworks are planned.

Saturday, July 11

  • Canal Fulton: Olde Canal Days Festival at St. Helena Heritage Park will conclude with fireworks at approximately 10 p.m.

Tuscarawas County

Thursday, July 2

  • New Philadelphia: First Town Days at Tuscora Park will feature fireworks beginning at 10 p.m.
  • Atwood Lake: Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.

Friday, July 3

  • Tappan Lake: Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m.

Saturday, July 4

  • Gnadenhutten: The annual Country Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks Festival will cap off the community’s Independence Day celebration with a fireworks display.

Carroll County

Thursday, July 2

  • Carrollton: The Carroll County Fireworks Show at the Carroll County Fairgrounds begins with festivities at 5 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for approximately 10 p.m.

Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early, as many events include food vendors, live entertainment, children’s activities and other festivities before the fireworks begin. Visitors should also check with event organizers for weather-related updates or schedule changes before traveling.
