A man accused of killing his wife in an Alliance homicide investigation has been extradited back to Stark County and is expected to make his first court appearance Monday.

Robert Andre Ross, 49, was returned to Stark County on Friday after being arrested in West Virginia following a multi-state search, authorities said.

Ross is accused in the death of his wife, Ashley Ross, who was found dead inside the couple’s home Wednesday morning in the 300 block of West Ely Street.

Police were called to the residence around 7 a.m. after two children inside the home were heard yelling for help, according to investigators. The children had discovered Ashley Ross dead in a bedroom, police said.

Officers secured the scene and safely removed the children, who were later reunited with family members.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the home with assistance from the Stark County Coroner’s Office as part of the homicide investigation.

Authorities identified Robert Ross, the victim’s husband, as the suspect and issued a warrant charging him with murder. Investigators said he was considered armed and dangerous before his arrest.

The U.S. Marshals Service assisted in locating Ross in West Virginia, where he was taken into custody.

Ross is expected to make his initial court appearance Monday, May 18, in Stark County.

Additional details about the circumstances surrounding Ashley Ross’ death have not yet been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
