Officials behind a newly formed high school athletic conference serving parts of Carroll, Stark and Tuscarawas counties have publicly revealed the league’s name.

The conference, first reported on by Jordan Miller News earlier this month, will be known as the Northeast Senate League. League administrators also announced they have opened the search for the conference’s first commissioner.

The commissioner will serve as the primary executive officer and a liaison between member school districts, the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the broader interscholastic athletics community.

In a joint statement, Northeast Senate League superintendents said the conference is seeking “a proactive professional who can balance the complexities of governance and scheduling with a passion for the student-athlete experience,” adding the goal is to ensure “a fair, exciting and highly competitive environment for every school district in our conference.”

The commissioner will oversee league operations, including managing the league budget, procuring championship awards and organizing administrative meetings. Responsibilities include facilitating monthly meetings with athletic directors and quarterly sessions with district superintendents.

The position will also require maintaining the league’s social media presence and overseeing scheduling systems such as DragonFly and FinalForms.

League officials said applicants should have at least five years of experience in athletic administration, coaching or educational leadership. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate familiarity with OHSAA bylaws and Title IX compliance, along with experience in tournament management and assigning officials. Proficiency with social media and digital scheduling platforms is also required.

The job is a part-time contractual position, with compensation based on experience.

Interested applicants must submit a resume and letter of interest to Carrollton Exempted Village Schools Superintendent Dave Davis by March 6. Application materials may be emailed to dave.davis@carrolltonschools.org or mailed to Carrollton Exempted Village School District, 205 Scio Road, Carrollton, Ohio 44615, Attn: Dave Davis.
