Canton police are looking for the driver of an SUV that struck a motorcyclist and sped away late Thursday night, according to information obtained by Jordan Miller News.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. Aug. 21 at Harmont Avenue and Fairmount Boulevard NE. Investigators said a vehicle heading south on Harmont made a sudden left turn onto Fairmount and collided with a Harley-Davidson that was stopped at the intersection.
Witnesses told officers the SUV was gray, possibly a Ford Edge, and had no distinguishing features before leaving the scene without stopping.
Emergency crews from the Canton Fire Department took the 52-year-old motorcyclist to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. Hospital staff said the man was alert when he arrived and is expected to recover.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen the crash or has information about the driver to call Canton police at 330-438-4485.
