Man seriously injured after wrecking motorcycle in Stark County; alcohol suspected in crash

A 42-year-old Canton man is in serious condition after wrecking his motorcycle early Friday morning.

According to the Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jack R. Jackson, 42, of Canton, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Gooding Street SW in Bethlehem Township around 1 a.m. Friday morning. Jackson traveled off the left side of the road near Beth Ave SW before striking a ditch and an embankment.

He was then separated from the motorcycle.

Jackson was transported to Mercy Medical Center by Erie Valley EMS for serious injuries. He was later flown to Akron General Hospital.

Jackson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
