The Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Louisville Community Theatre, presents “Drop Dead” on Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4 and June 10 and 11, 7 p.m., in the Minerva High School Auditeria.

In this farce by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, a cast of has-been actors plan to revive their careers in a potboiler murder mystery directed by “Wonder Child of the Broadway Stage” Victor Le Pewe (a psychotic, eye-twitching megalomaniac). At the dress rehearsal, the set falls, props break, and someone is murdered. The remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery, and stay alive for curtain calls.

The cast is: Andrew McNutt, Loni Porter, Don Marshall, Dave Pumneo, Sydney Lautzenheiser, Ryan Brady, Denise DiNarda, Roger Bartley, Malcolm Dostroph, and Nathan Meadows, who also directs the play.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., and all seating is general admission. Tickets are $10 and can purchased at the Minerva Chamber office, 330-868-7979 or [email protected] or at dropdeadtickets.eventbrite.com.

“Drop Dead” is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

The play was originally to be presented at the Chamber’s Roxy Theatre; however, due to ongoing renovations, it has been moved to MHS. Seating capacity will remain the same as at the Roxy, so get your tickets soon.

All profits from these performances will go toward continued renovations and improvements at the Roxy. Donations toward the project are welcomed, and sponsorships for new lighting are currently available. For more information, contact the Minerva Chamber office.
