A couple has been indicted in connection to the discovery of Amber Sherrell’s body in Goshen Township on Oct. 26, 2021.

The 38-year-old’s body was found along White Bridge Road, partially wrapped in plastic last fall.

During the course of the months-long investigation, Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Adam Fisher said nine search warrants were executed and two suspected were identified – 25-year old Cekoyia Riechers and her boyfriend, 38-year-old Daniel Fitzgerald, of Akron.

An autopsy performed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office and Tuscarawas County Coroner Dr. Jeff Cameron, determined that Sherrell’s cause of death was due to an overdose with a combination of fentanyl, fluoro fentanyl, oxycodone, alprazolam, and methamphetamine.

Reichers and Fitzgerald both admitted their involvement in the alleged dumping of the body. It was learned that Sherrell died in her Dover home with Reichers in attendance. They both dumped her body to cover any link to Sherrell.

Reichers and Fitzgerald are both facing counts of tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse, and failure to report a death.
