HS Sports Monday: Dover, New Philadelphia bowling split; Sheridan basketball tops River View in overtime

Dover and New Philadelphia High Schools split their pair of bowling matches at Wabash Lanes on Monday.

The Quaker boys bested Dover, 2,454-2,180, while the Crimson Tornadoes girls beat New Phila, 2,104-1,909.

In the boys’ match,  Jonah Henke (430 series, 225-205) and Alex Knisely (332, 158-193) led the Quakers.

For the girls, Kaylie Gibson bowled a 361 (188-173), while Natalie Nealey rolled a 315 (169-146).

BOYS BASKETBALL

SHERIDAN 68, RIVER VIEW 67 (OT)

Reed Coconis sank a go-ahead shot with 4.5 seconds left in Sheridan High School’s Muskingum Valley League win over host River View.

Kaelan Pulliam led Sheridan with 22 points, while Blaze Hannon added 13 points and Coconis totaled 12 points.

Owen Emig and Brody Border each scored 23 points to lead the Black Bears.
