The Minerva High School girls golf team completed a perfect run through the Eastern Buckeye Conference on Wednesday, capturing its third consecutive EBC championship with a dominant performance at the conference tournament at Pleasant View Golf Club.
The Lions, who finished the regular season with an 8-0 conference record, shot a team score of 341 to win the tournament by 41 strokes over runner-up West Branch.
Junior Peyton Beaumariage led the way for Minerva, earning EBC individual champion honors with a round of 77. Beaumariage finished seven strokes ahead of the rest of the field to secure the individual title.
Minerva also received strong performances from sophomore Emery Sell, who shot an 85 to finish third overall, and senior Delaney Sell, who carded an 88 to place fourth.
Sophomore Savanna Bartley rounded out the Lions’ four counting scores with a 91, finishing eighth overall.
Junior Tempi Muck shot a 99 to finish 11th, while freshman Molly Fetty recorded a 106 to place 19th.
The Lions’ four counting scores of 77, 85, 88 and 91 combined for their championship-winning total of 341.
West Branch finished second with a 382, while Marlington and Alliance tied for third with identical scores of 384. Carrollton rounded out the five-team field with a 426.
The tournament victory capped an undefeated conference campaign for Minerva, which went 8-0 during the regular season before securing its third straight EBC championship.
