A 28-year-old Canton man was killed Thursday afternoon after his SUV crossed the center line and collided head-on with a van on Navarre Road in Perry Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 3:51 p.m. Thursday near Negley Avenue.

Investigators said a gray 2016 Jeep Compass, driven by Dylan M. Manack, 28, of Canton, was traveling southwest on Navarre Road when it traveled left of center and struck an oncoming silver 2019 Ford Transit van head-on.

Following the impact, the Ford Transit rolled over in the roadway. Firefighters with the Perry Township Fire Department had to mechanically extricate Manack from the Jeep.

Manack was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Transit, Adam R. Haynes, 40, of Copley, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

Perry Township Fire/EMS, the Perry Township Police Department and Luthis Towing assisted at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Canton Post continues to investigate the crash.
