Fatal motorcycle crash under investigation in Hartville

A motorcyclist died following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Hartville, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at approximately 8:58 p.m. May 30 to a one-vehicle crash on Kent Avenue (state Route 43) between Andrews Street Northeast and Manning Road.

Preliminary findings indicate the southbound motorcycle crossed left of center while traveling on the roadway, failed to negotiate a curve and left the road, authorities said.

The rider was transported to Summa Health Akron Campus, where the individual was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Canton Metro Crash Team and the Hartville Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office and the Canton Metro Crash Team.
