Quick! Think Fourth of July — what’s the first mental image that comes to mind?

If your mind conjured colorful fireworks displays, you’re not alone. These visual and aural spectacles have become synonymous with our nation’s birthday. So it’s no surprise that Northeast Ohio is chock-full of fireworks celebrations.

If you self-identify as a pyrophile — aka a fireworks aficionado — then you know Independence Day just isn’t the same without a liberal helping of comets, crossettes, waterfalls and aerial shells lighting up the night sky.

Below is a list of July fireworks displays planned in Carroll, Stark and Tuscarawas counties to hold you over until the country’s 250th birthday next year.

What: Lake Cable Community Independence Day Fireworks**

Info: NOTE: Lake Cable is a private, members-only lake.

Fireworks begin: Dusk

Where: 2 James Duncan Plaza, Massillon, OH 44646

When: Thursday, July 3, 5–10 p.m.

What: Massillon Third of July Celebration

Info: Li’l Miss Liberty and Li’l Uncle Sam Pageant for ages 3–7. Registration begins at 5 p.m., pageant starts at 6 p.m. Face painting, balloon artist, food from local restaurants, DORA drinks and food trucks. New Wave Nation performs at 7 p.m.

Where: McKinley Memorial Park, 800 McKinley Drive NW, Canton, OH 44708

When: Thursday, July 3, 6–11 p.m.

What: Monumental Fourth Celebration

Info: Gates open at 6 p.m. Live entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m., featuring En-Rich-Ment Drum Line and Jimmy and the Soul Blazers.

What: Alliance Community Fireworks

Info: Hot dogs and ice cream will be served at the pavilion beginning at 6 p.m.

What: FOE #2185 Ladies Auxiliary presents the 2025 Carroll County Fireworks Show

Info: Entry by donation. DJ Tyree, food trucks, beer garden (cash only), vendor market, kids’ activities and car show.

Where: Tuscora Park Practice Field, 161 Tuscora Ave. NW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663

What: City of New Philadelphia Gigantic Fireworks Display

What: Atwood Lake Park Fireworks

Info: Watch fireworks over the lake from land or water. Atwood Lake is one of four Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District locations hosting fireworks. Others include:

What: Stark Community Jaycees Fourth of July Parade

Info: No fireworks in North Canton this year, but the parade tradition continues.

What: Freedom Rally
