A search is underway for a father and son who went missing Saturday after a tubing accident on the Cuyahoga River near the Sheraton Hotel in Cuyahoga Falls.

Family members say Patrick and his young son Braxton were tubing on the river when their tubes flipped near Front Street. Patrick’s wife and their younger son managed to make it safely to shore, but Patrick and Braxton were swept away by the current and have not been seen since.

A search party organized by loved ones gathered early Sunday morning at Gorge Metro Park to look for the missing pair. Volunteers were asked to search both the water and surrounding trails.

“This is my boyfriend’s brother and his nephew — my son’s uncle and cousin,” a family member wrote in a Facebook post. “Their family are a mess. All they wanna do is bring them home.”

Local authorities have not yet released official details, but the family is asking the public to keep an eye out and report any sightings or information to police.

The search is ongoing, and the community is being asked to keep the family in their prayers.
