A man and woman are dead following a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Tuscarawas County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The one-vehicle crash occurred around 8:11 p.m. on U.S. Route 250 near milepost 13 in Goshen Township.

Troopers said 47-year-old Keith A. Morris of Uhrichsville was operating a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the highway while pulling a camper trailer. His passenger, 44-year-old Jill L. Morris, also of Uhrichsville, was riding with him.

The trailer reportedly began to sway, causing the motorcycle to lose control. It overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway.

Jill Morris sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office. Keith Morris suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by New Philadelphia Fire Department to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital before being flown by medical helicopter to Akron General Hospital where he died.

According to investigators, neither Keith nor Jill Morris was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, New Philadelphia and Dover fire departments, the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, and Jim’s Towing assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
