Louisville High School Principal Garry Tausch may need to clear some space on his desk — or start a miniature dealership — after receiving hundreds of Hot Wheels cars from graduating seniors during the school’s 2025 commencement ceremony.
As each of the 239 members of the graduating class walked across the stage to receive their diplomas, they handed Tausch a toy car, catching him by surprise and leaving the crowd in laughter and applause. The lighthearted stunt, captured on video, quickly gained traction on social media.

A TikTok video of the moment has since gone viral, amassing more than 1.5 million views and thousands of comments praising the seniors’ creativity and the principal’s warm reaction.
In a Facebook post following the ceremony, the high school acknowledged the prank with humor.
“239 graduates… equals A LOT of wheels!!” the post read. “As seniors crossed the stage and shook hands with Principal Tausch, they handed him a little surprise of their own — a car! Hot Wheels, that is! By the end of the ceremony, Mr. Tausch had a full-blown auto collection and enough wheels to open his own dealership.”
