A 26-year-old Louisville man was killed Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 7:47 p.m. on May 16 on County Road 69 (Baltzley Valley Road) in Goshen Township. Troopers said Jacob Goard was driving a 2016 GMC Acadia southbound when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, and overturned multiple times.

Goard, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by New Philadelphia EMS to Union Hospital in Dover, where he died from his injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol and drugs were contributing factors in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. Assisting agencies included the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, New Philadelphia Fire Department, New Philadelphia EMS, Smith Ambulance, the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, and Country Side Towing.
