The Dover Police Department is investigating an assault and attempted robbery that occurred Monday evening at a Speedway gas station.
Officers responded to the incident at approximately 6:02 p.m. at 225 S. Wooster Ave. A female caller reported she was struck in the head during the altercation. The suspect fled the area on foot.
Emergency medical personnel from the Dover Fire Department arrived promptly and transported the victim to a nearby medical facility for treatment. She was later released, authorities said.
A subject of interest was quickly detained by Dover police for questioning. Investigators are continuing to gather details to determine the circumstances of the attempted robbery.
The New Philadelphia Police Department’s K9 unit assisted at the scene.
