A 17-year-old Holmesville resident lost his life in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning in Wayne County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reported that the crash occurred around 2:22 a.m. on Graber Road in Franklin Township.

Investigators said the teen was riding a 2005 Suzuki GSXR600 motorcycle eastbound on Graber Road when the vehicle left the roadway, striking an embankment before crashing into a group of pine trees.

Emergency responders transported the driver, identified as Nathan Coblentz, to Wooster Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead approximately an hour after the crash.

Officials confirmed that Coblentz was wearing a helmet at the time, and there is no indication that alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.

The OSHP received support at the scene from South Central Fire and EMS, TNT Towing, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
