Stark County voters have re-elected Kyle Stone as county prosecutor, according to unofficial results from the Stark County Board of Elections.
Stone, a Republican first elected in 2020, secured his second term with a decisive win over Democratic challenger Richard Reinbold. Stone received 104,156 votes, or 60.49%, to Reinbold’s 68,040 votes, or 39.51%.
Reinbold, a retired Stark County Common Pleas judge who stepped down in 2008, was unable to unseat the incumbent. Stone’s new term, set to begin on Jan. 6, will come with a salary of $156,066. The Stark County Board of Elections plans to certify the results on Nov. 20.
During his tenure, Stone has been both lauded and criticized by the public, particularly over the recent indictment of two Canton police officers on charges of reckless homicide in connection with the death of Frank Tyson. Tyson died in police custody following a struggle, prompting community-wide discussions and mixed reactions about accountability and law enforcement conduct.
