Ohioans planning to vote in the Nov. 5 general election must register by Monday, Oct. 7, with voter registration offices staying open until 9 p.m. that day. Afterward, registered voters can take advantage of early in-person voting, which begins on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Early voting will be available at county boards of elections and runs through Nov. 4, with extended hours in the final days leading up to the election. Absentee voting by mail will also start on Oct. 8, and voters must request absentee ballots by Oct. 29. All absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 to be counted.
Voters can check their registration status, register online, or find more information through the Ohio Secretary of State’s website. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
