Joshua James Freyermuth, 39, of Alliance, has been arrested in connection with an attempted kidnapping that occurred early Sunday. Freyermuth has been booked into the Stark County Jail on charges related to the alleged incident.
According to the Alliance Police Department, the attempted kidnapping involved a child who has since been safely returned to their family. Authorities reported that patrol officers and detectives acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect in Columbiana County.
Witnesses tell JMN that Freyermuth, who was reportedly wearing a wig during the incident, has been seen around Stark County on multiple occasions, driving different vehicles.
The Alliance Police Department shared a statement on Facebook, expressing gratitude to the community for their assistance during the investigation. They confirmed that the suspect is currently in police custody and further details regarding the incident will be released as they become available.
