A 26-year-old man from East Rochester has been indicted in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in March 2024, claiming the life of a Malvern resident.
Dakota Kincaid, of 11799 Lippincott Road, East Rochester, was indicted Wednesday by a Carroll County Grand Jury on seven counts related to the incident. The charges include two felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, one count of reckless homicide, two counts related to driving under the influence, one count of driving under suspension, and two counts of driving under OVI suspension.
The charges stem from a two-vehicle crash that took place on County Road 10 in Augusta Township, Carroll County, on March 20 at approximately 7:05 p.m. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kincaid was driving a northbound 2010 Ford Escape when he crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2020 Chrysler Voyager driven by 71-year-old Patrick Snow of Malvern.
The force of the collision caused Kincaid’s vehicle to veer off the road, strike a tree, and overturn. Snow’s vehicle came to a stop off the right side of the road.
Kincaid sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment. Snow, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at Aultman Hospital.
Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Augusta Fire Department, Sandy Creek Fire Department, EMT, McNinch Towing, and Prendergast Towing all responded to the scene.
Kincaid now faces multiple charges as the legal process moves forward.
