Taylor Zeiger will be appointed as the new head softball coach at Malvern High School, pending approval by the Malvern Board of Education on Monday, September 9.
Zeiger, a 2012 Malvern High School graduate and a member of the MHS Athletic Hall of Fame, is set to take on the role. She graduated from West Liberty University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and currently works at Zeiger Industries in the community.
A standout athlete in high school, Zeiger earned All-Ohio honors twice: Second Team in 2012 and Honorable Mention in 2011. She also set 18 school softball records, including most pitching wins in a season and career. At West Liberty University, Zeiger received four varsity letters and served as team captain in her junior and senior seasons.
Since 2016, Zeiger has been involved in youth softball coaching and has been an assistant coach at Malvern High School for the past three seasons under Coach Ashley Dorr.
“We are very excited for Coach Zeiger. She is one of the all-time great softball players in Malvern School History and has already established excellent relationships with our players,” Malvern Athletic Director Dave Tucci said. “We believe she will achieve great success as our head softball coach.”
Zeiger expressed enthusiasm for her new role, stating, “I am very excited for this opportunity and look forward to the bright future of Malvern Softball. Go Hornets.”
