24-year-old dies in Stark Co. after motorcycle collides with tree down in roadway

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning in Bethlehem Township.

Sheriff George T. Maier reported that deputies responded to a call at 12:40 a.m. regarding a single-vehicle accident in the 6800 block of Shepler Church Avenue SW. According to authorities, 24-year-old Devin Wile of Navarre was traveling southbound when his motorcycle collided with a tree that had fallen across the roadway.

Wile was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

The investigation is being conducted with assistance from the Erie Valley Fire Department, the Stark County Coroner’s Office, and the Canton/Stark County Metro Crash Team. Further details surrounding the circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information related to the crash to come forward.
