The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an out-of-state woman.
A 24-year-old woman from Maryland was discovered deceased late Friday morning near railroad tracks along Trump Avenue Southeast, just south of Orchard View Drive Southeast.
Harry Campbell, chief investigator at the Stark County Coroner’s Office, confirmed Saturday that the woman was a Maryland resident. She appeared to have died shortly before her body was found by a passing motorist around 11:15 a.m.
Campbell pronounced her dead at 1:16 p.m. but did not provide information regarding the preliminary cause of death or any visible injuries.
The woman’s body has been sent to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy, which is expected to be completed on Monday.
