The Canton Police Department is investigating an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred early Friday morning.
The incident happened at 7:39 a.m. at the intersection of E. Tuscarawas Street and Walnut Street in the downtown Canton area.
According to police spokesman Dennis Garren, the pedestrian was reported to be in stable condition a few hours after the incident. Authorities have indicated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.
