The United Local Golden Eagles could be considered young, but they’re running like seasoned vets right now.

United’s boys 4×100 relay team is comprised of two sophomores, Mason Laibe and Cayden Pitts and two juniors, Kollyn Wells and Danny Milburn.

On the opening day of the 2024 OHSAA state track and field championships, the 4×100 relay team posted a time of 43.44 in prelims – a mark that is faster than every other Division III team at the state tournament.

The relay team will run Friday evening for a chance to win the DIII state championship. The finals event is scheduled for 7:10.
