A man accused of shooting and killing a man at a movie theater Friday night appeared in court Monday morning.
20-year-old Corvon Thomas, of Massillon, is accused of shooting and killing a 27-year-old Canton man in the lobby of the Regal Cinemas in Massillon. JMN has confirmed a second person was injured as a result of the shooting.
The Massillon Police Department responded to the scene, discovering a deceased male near the front lobby. The victim was identified as Daron Davis, 27, from Canton.
Thomas is being held in the Stark County Jail on $1,000,000 on charges of murder and felonious assault.
Police are urging the public that this shooting was not an active shooter situation and is not being investigated as such. They believe this was an isolated incident. A motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.
