In a recent incident following a football game on October 12th, an assault took place at Knights Stadium, located at West Holmes High School. Law enforcement officials from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office have since made an arrest in connection with the incident.

The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Raymond Korns II from New Philadelphia, was apprehended as he attempted to flee the scene. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a responding deputy located Korns on State Route 39 as he entered the Village of Millersburg. The deputy promptly halted Korns and took him into custody.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Korns had been situated on the home side of the stadium. There, he allegedly assaulted two adult males who were present in the stands, resulting in visible injuries to their faces. Subsequently, a 72-year-old Millersburg man was transported to a nearby hospital, while the 52-year-old victim declined medical treatment.

As Korns tried to make his escape in his Honda Civic, he collided with an adult pedestrian who was attempting to prevent him from leaving the scene. Fortunately, the pedestrian only suffered minor injuries.

Authorities have charged Korns with assault and leaving the scene of an accident. Following his arrest, he was released on Friday on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident.
