A teenager was rushed to the hospital over the weekend in Carroll County after sustaining a major wound from an arrow Saturday evening.
According to a Carroll County Sheriff’s report, a 17-year-old was shot by a 20 year old with a bow and arrow.
Carroll County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of King Rd. Saturday evening after a frantic woman called 911.
In the 911 call, the woman told dispatchers that the teenager was shot in the chest. The teen could be heard in the background saying he was injured “everywhere.”
Throughout the course of the 911 call, dispatch told the woman to keep applying pressure to the wound.
When asked if the incident was intentional, Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Barnett told JMN that he could not comment on the specifics because it goes back to the investigation.
Deputies have arrested 20-year-old Michael Geckler on one count of Felonious Assault. Geckler has a Massillon address.
JMN is told by officials that he did not cooperate during the booking process. He did not comply with a booking photo or finger printing, according to sheriff’s reports.
The injured teen remains hospitalized. He was in the ICU at last check.
