Child hospitalized after Stark County hit-and-run; Sheriff’s office searching for suspect vehicle

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a hit-and-run crash that took place on Greenbower Street NE in Lexington Township, located northwest of Alliance. The incident occurred on Monday evening at around 8:30 p.m.

Responding to reports of a child being struck by a vehicle, Stark County Deputies arrived at Aultman of Alliance.

The vehicle involved in the crash was traveling westbound on Greenbower Street at the time of the incident but fled the scene immediately afterward. Authorities describe the vehicle as an older model, dark-colored sedan.

To aid in the investigation, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office has requested the support of the Canton Metro Crash Team, the Stark County Detective Bureau, and the Lexington Township Fire Department.

As of now, the investigation remains ongoing and no further details have been released regarding the incident. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the Stark County Sheriff’s Office at 330-430-3800.
