Wayne County, Ohio – Tragedy struck on Saturday morning when a two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one individual and sent two others to the hospital, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred in Sugar Creek Township on US Route 30, just before 11 a.m.

According to authorities, the crash involved a motorcycle and a minivan. A 25-year-old woman, accompanied by a 2-year-old child, was driving a Dodge Caravan and attempting to cross Route 30 from an access road. In a fateful turn of events, she failed to yield, leading to a collision with a Harley Davidson driven by 57-year-old Gerald Siegel from Canton.

First responders arrived at the scene to find the Dodge Caravan on its side. Both the woman and the 2-year-old child were promptly transported to Akron Children’s Hospital for treatment. Their current conditions remain unknown, but it was reported that they were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Tragically, Gerald Siegel was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Troopers confirmed that he was wearing a helmet while riding his motorcycle.

As the investigation into the incident continues, authorities have yet to determine whether speed or impairment played a role in the collision.
