In a heart-wrenching incident, a 15-month-old child, identified as Wyatt Stoller, lost his life after being struck by a pickup truck on Eby Road in Wayne County.

The incident occurred on Friday evening and was confirmed by an official press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

According to OSHP, a 43-year-old man was driving his F-150 pickup truck south on Township Road 73, coming from State Route 604 when the accident took place at approximately 7:57 p.m.

The child, who had wandered onto the road, was struck by the vehicle.

The child had left the home where he was under the care of a 17-year-old caregiver, who was unaware of the child’s presence on the road.

Following the incident, emergency services were immediately notified, and the child was airlifted to Akron Children’s Hospital. The infant died at the hospital.

As part of standard procedure, the pickup truck was towed from the scene to facilitate the ongoing investigation, as stated in the OSHP press release. Speed is not a suspected factor in the accident.
