In the early hours of July 9, 2023, a shooting incident unfolded on West 6th Street and Johnson Court, resulting in nine individuals sustaining gunshot wounds. The Cleveland Police responded to the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m., as part of their routine Warehouse District Detail patrol.
Upon arrival, officers immediately provided medical assistance to the injured victims. Initial reports suggest that an unidentified suspect fired shots at a group of people before fleeing from the area. Law enforcement authorities are currently examining available evidence, including surveillance footage, and are conducting interviews with the victims at MetroHealth Medical Center.
All nine victims have survived the attack, with no reported fatalities. At this stage, no further details regarding the incident have been released.
Cleveland Police urge anyone with information related to the shooting to contact them directly at 216-623-5318. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be provided to Crimestoppers at 216-25-CRIME, with the possibility of a reward of up to $5,000.00 for valuable information.
