The Cleveland Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 27-day-old baby.
The incident unfolded on July 4, authorities were called to MetroHeath Medical Center at approximately 9 am after receiving reports of a deceased infant. The child had been brought to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Upon arrival, members of the Homicide Unit were dispatched to both the hospital and the child’s residence to conduct a thorough investigation. Interviews were conducted with the child’s parents as part of the ongoing investigation.
On July 5, the case took a turn as it was declared a homicide.
The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head. As a result, the child’s parents and another male, identified as a relative of the child’s father, were taken into custody in connection with the case.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into this distressing incident. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
