Two Stark County men are facing serious charges in connection to a shooting that happened Thursday evening in Canton.
According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, officers were working an investigation in the 200 block of 12th St NW when detectives were shot at by two suspects.
One of the detectives was grazed by a bullet, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The other detective was unharmed.
Braylen Smallwood, 22, of Canton was arrested nearby. He is facing the following charges: two counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault on a Police Officers, and one count of Discharge Firearm on or Near Prohibited Premises.
A second suspect was identified as 21-year-old Trezjon Romello Allen of Massillon. He remains on the run, according to police. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Allen is facing the following charges of: two counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault on a Police Officers, one count of Discharge Firearm on or Near Prohibited Premises, one count of Weapons Under Disability, and one count of Participation in a Criminal Gang.
