A 27-year-old motorcycle rider is dead following a two-vehicle accident in Canton.

The Canton Police Department received a report of an accident with injuries on June 25 around 12:30 am. The accident involved a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox.

The Suzuki was heading west on 30th St NW when it struck the Equinox, which was turning east onto 30th St NW from a residential driveway.

The motorcyclist, who has been identified as James Townsley, 27, of Canton, was thrown off the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Canton Metro Crash Team has taken over the investigation, and it is still unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or speed were involved.
