2-year-old dies after drowning in creek

A 2-year-old girl died after falling into a creek Friday evening.

According to the Coshocton Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in the 55000 block of TR 175, prompting a 911 call regarding a possible drowning.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered that a 2-year-old child had fallen into a creek and was unresponsive.

The Coshocton County EMS promptly arrived on the scene and transported the child to Genesis of Coshocton for treatment. The child was later flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the West Lafayette Fire Department and the Coshocton County EMS.
