Traffic was impacted on Tuesday morning on US 30 following a vehicle fire.
A truck fire engulfed a semi-service vehicle on US 30 near Sam Krabil Road, prompting the closure of the highway for several hours as emergency crews battled the blaze and managed the aftermath.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. as commuters were making their way to work. Osnaburg Township Fire Department responded to the blaze.
As the flames filled the sky, authorities took swift action to secure the area and ensure the safety of all individuals in the vicinity. The Hazmat team was called in as a precautionary measure due to the potential presence of hazardous materials within the truck.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
US 30 was temporarily shut down in both directions. Sandy Creek Joint Fire District responded for mutual aid.
