Missing elderly woman found dead in Stark County, police say no signs of foul play

The Massillon Police Department is investigating the death of an elderly woman who was first reported missing.

Cheryl Siravo, 76, of Massillon was reported missing by a family member on Wednesday, May 3rd in Massillon around 12:30 a.m.. The Massillon Police Department responded to the initial missing person report and completed an incident report, listing Siravo as a missing person in the Ohio Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS).

Around 8:43 AM on the same day, the Massillon Police Department received a welfare check request and responded to 838 South Ave. SE. Upon arrival, officers discovered a lifeless body of an elderly woman leaning against a fence. The woman was identified as Cheryl Siravo. The Stark County coroner’s office responded to the scene and took custody of the body.

Currently, there are no clear signs of foul play, but the case will remain open as a death investigation until a full report is received from the medical examiner.
