Jerry Springer has died at the age of 79, according to TMZ.
Springer hosted a show known across the country, “The Jerry Springer Show,” for 27 years.
According to TMZ’s report, Springer was battling pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed just a few months ago.
Before his TV career, Spring was an Ohio politician. He served one term as Cincinnati’s mayor in 1977. He was first elected to the city council in 1971 following a failed bid for U.S. Congress in 1970.
Springer was most recently on “The Masked Singer” last season.
