The Newcomerstown Police Department is investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy, according to a press release from the department.
Police received a report of a deceased juvenile in the 500 block of South River St Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m.
When officers arrived to the scene, they located the 15-year-old dead inside the home.
The Tuscarawas County Coroner and Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted at the scene, the press release says.
The cause of the teen’s death is pending an autopsy by the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office.
The 15-year-old was a student at Newcomerstown High School. The school district sent a message to parents that grades 9-12 will operate on a 2-hour delay and all tests were canceled.
