Federal agents looking for man who shot pregnant woman in Canton

Law enforcement officials continue to look for a man who they say shot and seriously injured a woman who was pregnant last month.

A woman who was seven months pregnant was seriously injured after being shot in the back while in a vehicle the morning of March 27. She transported herself to the hospital.

According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, the victim was riding passenger in a vehicle heading south on Shorb Ave N.W. That’s when police claim multiple shots were fired at the vehicle.

The Canton Police continue to search for the suspect, but now the United States Marshals have joined the hunt for 42-year-old Charles Turner.

Turner, 42, is described as a black male, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds. Turner is known to frequent the Cleveland and Canton areas.

Turner is facing charges for felonious assault. He’s also wanted by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated robbery.
