A 22-year-old man making a DoorDash delivery died after being shot in the 14000 block of Timber Trail in Akron.

Akron Police responded to the area around 11:30 Wednesday night for reports of a shooting. When they arrived to the scene, police located the 22-year-old victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. Officers administered life-saving measures before EMS arrived and transported him to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center.

The victim was listed in critical condition but died Thursday morning from his injuries. His name has not been released at this time.

According to police, the victim and an acquaintance were involved in an altercation with two people around 11 p.m. in the Highland Square area before the shooting.

Investigators learned that the victim was followed by Matthew Couch, 21, and Derek Ransome-Fromby, 19, to the delivery location after the altercation and shot him after he exited his car.

Officers are working to learn more about the situation.

The two suspects were arrested in the 1400 block of Tyler Street around 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning without incident.

Ransome-Fromby and Couch were charged with Felonious Assault and later booked into the Summit County Jail. Additional charges, including Murder, are pending since the victim has since died.
