Police investigating after man stabbed to death over weekend

A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death Friday afternoon, according to Akron Police.

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of E. Market St for reports of a stabbing. When they arrived to the scene, the 32-year-old victim was critically injured. He died at the scene.

A 64-year-old man was detained at the scene after police determined he was involved in a fight with the deceased. Detectives said the 32-year-old was stabbed multiple times.

The 64-year-old was transported to the police station for questioning, but no charges were filed at the time. Police said the decision not to file charges rigth now against the man is “based on the witness statements and additional information and evidence collected.”

The incident remains under investigation.
