A “death investigation” is underway in Canton after a man died after being stabbed multiple times in the 1100 block of Walnut Ave N.E.
Canton Police officers were dispatched to the area for a trouble call Friday at 10:35 p.m. When they arrived, they located Spencer Price, 36, of Canton, unresponsive on the steps of the residence.
Price was stabbed multiple times in the face, neck and chest areas, according to police. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital by the Canton Fire Department where he died from his injuries.
A female at the scene of the stabbing suffered from serious injuries to her face and head. Several of her teeth were knocked out. The female claimed she was the girlfriend to Price.
She said her and Price were involved in a physical altercation which resulted in him assaulting her. She said after he attacked her, he tried to attack the downstairs neighbor. The downstairs neighbor then stabbed Price.
The female victim was transported to Aultman Hospital by the Canton Fire Department.
The information from this case with be presented to the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
