Malvern’s Powers among girls basketball All-Ohioans

Malvern senior Maddie Powers earned a First Team honor for the 2022-23 All-Ohio Division IV girls’ basketball team.

Powers, who also earned First Team honors for the Inter-Valley Conference and Eastern District squads, averaged 25.8 points per game for the Hornets. She earned her third All-Ohio appearance after nabbing Special and Honorable Mention spots over the last two seasons.

Powers ended her career in green and white with 1.617 points. She is the record holder for both three-pointers made (149) and free throws made (458) I. A career.

Malvern junior Emma Debo was named All-Ohio Honorable Mention.

The junior averaged 10.1 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, along with numerous league and district honors.

Hiland junior Ashley Mullet and Tuscarawas Central Catholic junior Reese Triplett each earned Second Team honors for the all-state list, while Strasburg sophomore Riley Thomas and freshman Ally Miller took Third and Honorable Mention spots, respectively. Hiland junior Mallory Stutzman also made the Honorable Mention team, while Garaway senior Rylee Putt was named to Special Mention.
